Part tiny grief ritual, part pocket-sized permission slip, part invitation to make something out of what you’re carrying: these blank grief zine prompts were created by me as a freebie for Philly Zine Fest 2026.
Each mini-zine is designed to be printed on a single sheet of printer paper and folded into a small zine. Inside, you’ll find prompts to respond to in whatever way feels right—writing, drawing, collage, or another form of making. No polished answers required. No special supplies or artistic credentials. Just a little space to notice what’s here.
The four zines explore pet loss, living losses, grief in general, and art-focused ways to respond to grief without centering words. Use one that speaks to you, leave one for another day, or make something wonderfully messy. There’s no correct way to meet a prompt—and no timetable for grief.
Created with care and shared freely for personal use. Please don’t use or distribute these for commercial purposes. Enjoy, and take what you need. If you’d like to make a donation, you can do that here.
