It can be nerve-wracking and frustrating to find a therapist.
But here you are, you’re doing it and I’m so glad. You’ve found me — now to determine whether we’re a good fit. If you have questions which aren’t addressed here, or are ready to schedule an intake conversation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
FAQs
Do you take insurance?
My insurance-based slots are currently full. I accept Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, and Optum insurances. If you’d like to be placed on my waitlist you can do that here.
Can I see you in person?
Not at this time. I am a fully virtual practice working with folks who reside in Pennsylvania and Florida. I have found virtual therapy work over the last three years to be incredibly fruitful and connective, as well as flexible and convenient.
How do we start?
It begins with this form. I will let you know via email what my current availability looks like, or it will be clearly stated on the form. Once we confirm we have alignment there, we will schedule a consultation call to evaluate fit (this is offered at no cost) and move forward with scheduling a first session. Thank you for your consideration!
How often will we meet?
Many clients prefer start with weekly sessions and this can be helpful for building rapport. That said, I can also easily accomodate bi-weekly sessions. We will adjust frequency of sessions depending on your needs, goals, and schedule.
Who are my ideal clients?
I love working with queers, punks, leftists, kinky and polyamorous folks, and weirdos (whether or not you look it on the outside) who are craving non-judgment, understanding, and clarity. Loss is interwoven into many of life’s challenging experiences, not only in death, but break-ups, job transitions, growth in our gender and identity, estrangement, and more.
What will our first session be like?
During our initial session, our primary goal is to explore the vibes and see if we're a match. I'll take the opportunity to understand you better, while also sharing pertinent information about myself to facilitate a strong connection. I am happy to bring questions and will be honored to receive your answers. I am generally straightforward, relaxed, and looking for connection points to determine how I can support you in the work and growth you want to do.
What are your qualifications and completed trainings?
I am passionate about being a lifelong learner and routinely exceed the minimum requirements for continuing education credits because I simply cannot stop myself from seeking out new learning experiences. I am happy to answer questions about my practice level with the approaches I commonly utilize.

What if I get emotional or don’t know what to say?
That’s totally okay — showing up is enough. Therapy isn’t about having the “right” words. It’s a space to be human, however that looks on a given day.
What does “sliding scale” mean?
I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone who wants it. In order to provide services to as many individuals and families in our community as possible, I ask for your active participation in deciding your contribution. Please bear in mind that we are often socialized to see what we lack better than the big and small privileges we do have. Click here to view the sliding scale I have adopted and see where you might fit.
What approaches do you use?
Some of the approaches I use most frequently are: Attachment-based, Constructivist, Culturally Sensitive, EMDR, Eclectic, Feminist, Humanistic, Narrative, Person-Centered, Relational, Somatic Experiencing, and Strength-Based. The grief theories I utilize are personalized for you — I’m delighted to discuss these further.
Do you only work with grief?
Not even remotely. I know that grief effects all areas of your life and so that is what is open for discussion. In addition to bereavement following a death, I work with ambiguous, anticipatory, and living losses as well as companion animal losses. I’m also well versed in working with issues associated with anxiety, kink, sex work, and non-monogamy — I welcome you to bring your whole self to our sessions.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows incur a fee, which we’ll review when we complete your intake paperwork.
