Bound By Loss | June

Have you ever read something and thought, “Wait… did they break into my brain and write down my grief?” That’s the kind of magic we’re chasing in Bound by Loss, where our grief-centered book circle is diving into Renegade Grief by Carla Fernandez.

This book is part memoir, part permission slip, and part slightly feral invitation to reimagine what grief could look like—especially when you don’t fit the mold. It’s for people whose losses don’t always feel legible to the outside world, who’ve been told they’re “too much” or “still not over it,” or who just want someone to say, “Hey, it makes sense that this hurts.” Carla writes like a friend who knows grief is sacred and weird, overwhelming and hilarious in its own morbid little ways.

Whether your loss is fresh or decades old, tidy or a glorious mess, Bound by Loss is a space to show up exactly as you are—with your broken heart, your hot takes, and your dog-eared copy of a book that might just change something in you. You don’t have to be a literary genius, and you definitely don’t have to have it all together.

Here’s what you do need:
✨ A little curiosity
🖤 A willingness to feel things (even weird feelings)
📚 A copy of Renegade Grief (ebook, audio, hard copy ETC.)
🍵 And maybe a cozy beverage or emotional support snack

We’re building a circle of grievers who are ready to connect through story—not to fix each other, but to feel a little less alone while we hold the tender, tangled pieces of what loss leaves behind. This book club isn’t therapy, but it is therapeutic. Expect meaningful conversation, shared silence, the occasional “omg SAME,” and space to show up imperfectly.

Bound by Loss is happening June 12th 6-8 pm and meets via Google Meet with CC captioning. If you’ve been looking for a grief space that’s open-hearted, non-traditional, and a little rebellious, this is your sign.

You are so welcome here. Bring your grief. Bring your voice. We’ll hold it together.
